How my 30-day marketing pilot for contractors works

I don’t think you should sign a year-long contract with someone before they’ve sent you a single lead worth quoting. So I don’t ask you to.

My 30-day marketing pilot for contractors works like this: you pay for setup up front, I build and launch your marketing, and the 30 days start the day your ads go live. The monthly fee waits until it’s bringing in leads you’d actually quote. Here’s every part of it.

01

The terms

  • Setup fee. One time, paid up front, non-refundable. It covers the pages and accounts I build for you.
  • Day 1. The 30 days start the day your ads go live, not the day you sign.
  • Monthly management fee. Starts at day 30 or your first qualified lead, whichever comes later.
  • Qualified lead. A lead from the marketing I run that you send a quote to. You tell me when you’ve quoted it. Not a click. Not a wrong number. Not a guy trying to sell you SEO.
  • Ad spend. Once the ads are set up, you pay Google or Meta directly. I never mark it up, and it never runs through me.
  • The agreement. You sign a simple month-to-month agreement. No long-term contract.
  • After billing starts. Month-to-month, with 30 days’ notice to cancel.
  • Ownership. Everything I build is yours: the website, the ad accounts, your Google Business Profile, and the data.

That’s the whole deal. See how pricing works for what moves the numbers.

What “whichever comes later” means

If the first lead you quote comes in before day 30, the monthly fee starts on day 30. If it comes in after day 30, the fee starts the day it does. Either way, I’m not billing you every month for marketing that hasn’t put a job on your quote list yet.

Day 1 is the day your ads go live. Setup time doesn’t eat into your 30 days.

A lead counts once you’ve quoted it and told me so. It has to come from the marketing I’m running, not a referral from your brother-in-law. A lead you’d never quote is worth nothing to you, so it shouldn’t count for me either. You can’t pay a crew with “impressions.”

Before day 1: setup and launch

This part happens before the clock starts. How long it takes depends on what you already have and how fast Google approves things.

  • I go through what you already have: your website, your Google Business Profile, any ad accounts, and where your calls and form fills actually end up.
  • I fill out your form and call your number the way a customer would.
  • I ask which jobs you want more of, and which calls you’d rather never get.
  • I pick the channels that fit your trade and your area. That might be Google Ads, Local Services Ads, Meta ads, or some mix. Not every trade needs every channel.
  • I set up call and form tracking before anything goes live. If a lead isn’t tracked, you and I are both guessing.
  • I build or fix the pages you need. If your site works, it stays. If it doesn’t, see contractor website design.
  • I build the ad accounts in your name. You put your own card on them.
  • Then the ads go live. That’s day 1.

03

The 30 days, week by week

I won’t promise a set number of leads by a set day. Here’s what I do instead.

Week 1: Cut the junk

I read every search term and every lead that comes in. Anything that’s the wrong job, the wrong town or a tire-kicker gets blocked.

Week 2: Check the leads with you

Did they answer? Did you quote it? This is where you tell me what’s real.

Weeks 3 and 4: Move the money

Budget goes toward what’s turning into quotes, not what’s getting clicks.

I like to touch base every week, as long as your schedule allows it. On day 30 we get on a call: what came in, what each lead cost, and what I’d change next.

04

What you own at the end

Everything I built, in your name: the website and domain, your Google Business Profile, your ad accounts, the tracking, and every bit of lead data. If anything has to start under my login, it gets handed to you when you leave. I don’t hold a contractor’s stuff hostage. That’s a rule, not a sales line.

05

If you stop

  • Before the monthly fee starts: you can walk away, no notice needed. Setup is non-refundable, but that work is done and you keep all of it.
  • After the monthly fee starts: give me 30 days’ notice. That’s it.
  • Ad spend: it’s your account and your card. You can pause it yourself, any time.

06

Who this isn’t for

I’d rather say no up front than waste your money.

  • Your ads already work. If your ads are bringing in a happy amount of qualified leads, you don’t need me. I’ll tell you that on the call.
  • You’re not open to change. I turn down contractors who aren’t open-minded and willing to scale their business alongside me. This only works if you and I are both pulling.
  • You want a promise of X leads by day Y. I won’t make it. Anyone who does is guessing.

Questions

Do I pay for ads during the pilot?

Yes. Once the ads are set up, you pay Google or Meta directly from your own account. That money goes to them, not me, and I never mark it up.

What if no qualified lead comes in by day 30?

Then the monthly fee doesn’t start yet. It starts the day you quote your first lead from the marketing I’m running. Setup is already paid at that point, and you can walk away any time before the fee starts.

What does setup cost?

It depends on how many pages and accounts I build for you. You get exact numbers in a custom proposal after a call. See what drives the cost.

Do you have results from other contractors?

I’ve run 5 accounts so far. I keep my clients’ names off this site, and I’m still adding case studies. Ask me on a call and I’ll walk you through what the work has brought in.

Next step

Ready to see if it works for you?

Tell me about your business and I’ll call or email you. Got a question first? The FAQ probably covers it, or you can read more about me.
